Azealia Banks for MAC

Rapper Azealia Banks has become the face of a new limited addition MAC lipstick called  Yung Rapunxel. The shade is a plum matte that compiments Banks and her funky style. Yung Rapunxel will be available in stores on September 6. Banks will also be performing at the  MAC store in SoHo on the same day for Fashion’s Night Out in New York City.

Banks is not the first rap artist to get her own limited addition MAC lipstick. Nicki Minaj and MAC joined forces to create a lipstick called Viva La Glam Nicki. All profits from the lipstick are being donated to help men and women suffering from HIV/AIDS.

Banks’ new lipstick release comes on the heels of her recent controversial magazine cover for Dazed & Confused Magazine. The cover showed Banks blowing up what appears to be a pink condom. The cover was banned in seven countries, but recieved increased media attention and viewing on the internet.

Banks shows through her fashion and music that she is not afraid of controversy. She recently released her new single “Van Vogue” from her album 1991. Check out the video below to catch a glimpse of this edgy “it” girl in action.
