Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner

I’m sure there are plenty of discerning music lovers out there who wouldn’t mind a word or two with Avril Lavigne concerning some of her more annoying works of saccharine pop punk songwriting. I mean, who hasn’t written out a few thoughtfully composed emails addressed to her publicist in protest of “Sk8er Boi?” Not this guy.

But around 1:00 AM Sunday morning, several bar patrons took that sentiment a little too far after allegedly attacking the 27-year-old singer outside the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

Lavigne tweeted about the incident, saying “I got attacked by 5 people last night out of nowhere. Not cool. My face is f***ed.” She later described the wounds she sustained as “black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts.”

In the process of breaking up the fight, Lavigne’s boyfriend Brody Jenner received a nasty blow to the head with a bottle. Jenner later tweeted “Interesting Saturday night … Just got out of the hospital with a new scar on my face. Charges/chargers!!!”

It was reported on Tuesday that Jenner had filed a police report for an assault with a deadly weapon. So far, there have been no arrests in connection with the assault.
