Audrina Patridge is set to front her new reality show, "Audrina"

The rest may still be “unwritten” for former Hills star Lauren Conrad, as she continues to find a place for her still-untitled reality show, but her once co-star and BFF, Audrina Patridge, has taken her reality ventures elsewhere.

While the 25-year-old aspiring actress began her career nearly five years ago on the MTV docudrama, Patridge is now spreading her reality wings and moving to a new show and a new network.  And this time, Audrina’s calling the shots.

After playing second fiddle to her Hills co-stars for nearly six seasons, the reality starlet’s newest series, simply titled Audrina, is set to premiere on VH1 on April 17. The show will follow Patridge in her professional career, as well as her personal life which includes her parents and siblings, reports People.com.

Patridge on "Dancing with the Stars"

Back in October, when Patridge danced the night away on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, she spilled a bit of the details surrounding the secrecy of her new show. “It’s a reality show about me and my family,” said Patridge to US Weekly upon getting the “Dancing” boot. “Everything that people have wondered about me, they’ll get to see.”

Though fans of the MTV series that shot Patridge to reality fame only got a taste of her rocky romantic life (thanks in part to Justin “Bobby” Brescia), her latest venture in television will have a bit more “familiar” substance, as VH1′s Executive VP in Original Programming and Production, Jeff Olde notes:

“On one level, she is working to establish herself in the entertainment industry,” said Olde in a statement. “But at the same time she has this amazingly real, supportive family in Orange County who keeps her grounded.”

Similar to the concept of Conrad’s Hills, the soon-to-be released series will capture the trails and triumphs of “the story of a young woman with dreams, goals, and ambitions.” Only this time around, scripted story lines and fame-seeking frenemies need not apply.
