Outkast is the most legendary rap duo known to anyone who listens to music. The two  started testing the solo waters with their album Speakerboxxx/Lovebelow and haven’t released music together since 2006. Fans are getting tired of the group not providing.

However, it isn’t the fault of Big Boi; he has been producing music and has been jumping on remixes of songs that Andre has been featured on such as “Pink Matter” by Frank Ocean and “Sorry” by T.I. He wants Outkast again. Andre does not and has stated that in several interviews.

“It’s important for me to be clear about the origins of my contributions to ‘Pink Matter’ and ‘Sorry.’ I was approached as a solo artist by both Frank Ocean & Tip. I discussed musical direction with each artist and completed my verses. It was after that when Big Boi’s name came up.

I never want to mislead our audience – I worried that some would think these were Outkast collaborations. These songs are not Outkast collaborations. I discussed this rationale with Big, Frank and T.I. and everyone agreed. That is why I was surprised to read about these remixes.

I understand that anyone can put out an unofficial remix to any song but I have an obligation to be honest with fans about what this is … and what it isn’t.”

Andre 3000 is completely entitled to never produce another Outkast album. But people will indeed hate him for that. I would strongly dislike him for a few hours then get over it when I see him play Jimi Hendrix (yes, he is playing Jimi Hendrix in a biopic).

The point, is I got excited when I heard Big Boi on these remixes. It sounded like a tease- that Outkast was coming back out and is going to destroy the rap game and show people what real music is.

Sadly, with Andre stating that a new album isn’t the case and that they are not coming out with singles, it shuts down my excitement ten fold. Andre, in 2008, stated that “The rap game has to save itself.”

Do you believe that’s the case? I mean seriously if people could save themselves, why would there be a need for Superman, Iron Man, or any super hero for that matter.
