Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse died suddenly last week in her London home. Now her family and friends tell People that they think Winehouse died of alcohol withdrawal.

The new claim that came out in the British tabloid Sun states that Winehouse ignored her doctor’s advice to slowly and gradually stop drinking alcohol. There were also claims that the singer, who died at age 27, quit drinking alcohol altogether this past month.

A family friend told Sun that her family thought the sudden withdrawal from alcohol would cause Winehouse’s death.

Winehouse’s autopsy was inclusive, and further tests need to be completed to determine the cause of death.
