10th Anniversary Edition (Deluxe Edition) Album Cover

To us, Alicia Keys has become a legend by creating a new sound for the R&B world, while proving that a woman can be just as beautiful in a t-shirt and jeans. Her goal was to sell records because of her love for music and of course, her talent. She refused to create a sexually iconic image because she knew what she had to offer the world was special. Keys grew up in New York City in a single-parent home and because of it, she learned to be independent quickly. Keys was constantly surrounded by negative activity but she never let it affect her — instead, it inspired her to do more, to be more.

And 10 years, 11 million sales, and 14 Grammy’s later her first album, Songs in a Minor, will be celebrated by being released once again. On June 28th the Deluxe and Collector’s edition will be available for purchase that will include the original album remastered, up to 12 bonus tracks including new songs from the era, alternate versions, and live versions. It will also consist of a documentary on the creation of Songs in a Minor.

Keys has attempted to build a closer relationship with her loyal fans as she writes intimate journals that will be a countdown until the release of her most prized possession.  Keys writes:

“I found a label that believed in me, Clive Davis and J Records. And we brought them an album that was me. And then one day, I am on Oprah, singing Fallin’ and she’s singing along to the words. The moment I had dreamed of, and worked years and years for, had finally come— an overnight success that took my whole life.”

A classic album, indeed, and you can pre-order it now. Watch Alicia Keys preview it below:
