While flipping through the pages of the October 2011 issue of Seventeen Magazine with Taylor Lautner on the cover, I noticed a striking red-haired model on pages 124 and 129. Looking through her pictures after a friend told me about her, I was impressed immediately, and I’ve been following her on Twitter and Tumblr ever since. Alexandra Madar is a stunning, freckled-faced beauty who is on her way to the top of the modeling world.
This 5’11 model has been modeling for 3 years, since she was 14 years old, and has no plans to stop anytime soon. She got into the industry when her mom’s friend, a photographer, took pictures of Alexandra at her studio. The photographer instantly noticed Alexandra’s potential and mentioned to her mom that she should become a model. Her mother was on board, but Alexandra was a little hesitant about adding something else to her plate because she was just about to start high school. A few months later, Alexandra decided to send her photos to an agency, and she was signed by Elite Model Management in Miami.
Alexandra recently went to New York City for Fashion Week and to add to her portfolio. While she was there, she was photographed by Vital Agibalow, William Lords, and Christos Karantzolas, among others. When asked on her Tumblr page what photographers she would also love to work with, she named Steven Meisel, David Urbanke, Nigel Barker, Paolo Roversi, and a few more.
Alexandra was also featured in a few runway shows while she was in New York City. She’s also walked in many runway shows in her home state of Florida, including one for HairDesignerTV.com and another one for alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet.
Besides having a spread in Seventeen Magazine, Alexandra has also had a photo shoot with a French beauty magazine, and she’s been featured on the cover of Your Beauty Industry.
Accomplishing all of these things is extraordinary, especially for a 17 year old, but Alexandra does more. She’s spoken out against bullying. Alexandra herself was a victim of bullying because of her looks, and she wants to use her fame and her career to help speak out for victims. Alexandra is also a great student, photographer, and writer (she writes for her school newspaper) who is working hard in hopes of getting her hands on an acceptance letter from New York University.
Even though she’s done all of this, Alexandra is still a normal teenager. She loves social media websites (especially Twitter), she’s obsessed with candles and green tea, she’s a bookworm, and she looks up to a number of people including her mother, Tyra Banks, Taylor Swift, Coco Rocha, and Karlie Kloss.
Alexandra is a breath-taking model with an extremely unique look who wants to make a difference in the world. She’s so talented, and even though not everyone can reach the top of the modeling industry, I sincerely hope that she does and achieves everything that she wants to accomplish. Alexandra Madar – remember her name.
