An McQ Ad

Even though the iconic designer Alexander McQueen died over a year ago, his legacy continues to live through his fashion brand. It was recently announced that the label’s younger brand, McQ, is going to open its first flagship store and it will have its first runway debut at London Fashion Week in February 2012.

Celebs Love McQ

The AW 2012/2013 collection will be a preview to the pieces that will be seen in the new McQ store. The McQ store will be located on Dover Street in London, in the center of the city’s West End, and will open next spring. It will contain womenswear, menswear, and accessories. It is more affordable than the mainline label.

The brand has also caught the attention of many celebrities. Emma Watson, Chloë Moretz and Rihanna have all been spotted wearing the same mini dress from the AW 2011 collection.

I am a huge fan of Alexander McQueen and Sarah Burton (creative director at Alexander McQueen and designer of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress), and I believe that the store and the clothing line will do very well. The collection is definitely aiming for a younger crowd, and I think that it succeeds in doing this. Below are some pieces from the collection.

I’m in love with the cape on the far left! Hopefully the new store in London does well enough for it to expand to other parts of the world, including the US.
