The Three New Angels

This fall, new TV shows are everywhere, including the new take on the old story of “Charlie’s Angels.” Who doesn’t love the crime fighting threesome lead by their allusive leader Charlie? This fall, the new series will run primetime on ABC, and it seems to pack a serious punch.

The show has Rachel Taylor, Minka Kelly, and Annie Ilonzeh playing the three crime fighting girls.  Eve (Kelly) is a former U.S. Marine with a mysterious past. Abby (Taylor) comes from a well to do family, but she is always a con artist. The last angel is Kate (Ilonzeh), an ex-cop with emotional baggage.  Together, each girl holds distinct personality traits that add for interesting character interaction

The series’ executive producer is Drew Barrymore, who starred in the film version of “Charlie’s Angels.” The show also features Robert Wagner as the voice of the girls’ fearless leader Charlie. In keeping with the original “Charlie’s Angels,” no one actually ever meets Charlie. However, I have a feeling that eventually a face will be put with the voice in this series.

This new take on “Charlie’s Angels” seems to be packed full of girl power as these three angels defeat the bad guys. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only thing that this series is based on. Judging from the trailor, it looks entertaining, but it seems like one of those shows that only lasts a season or two.
