98 Degrees Talk Reunion

Did someone say throwback Thursday? Yesterday (Thursday, June 20), former nineties boy-band 98 Degrees announced that they would be back! Now before you get too excited,  know that it will sadly only be,  as the boys themselves would say, for just one night…una noche. For now. But por que?

After previously denying rumors of the band doing a come-back tour, ex-98 Degrees members (and brothers) Nick Lachey and Drew Lachey, finally set the record straight on Ryan Seacrest’s popular radio show On Air With Ryan Seacrest. The boys were happy to announce that the two of them will be performing with the rest of the band, a.k.a Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons, at this year’s Summer Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA on August 18th!

Drew tells Seacrest:

“We’re very excited about the opportunity, and we’ve been toying around with the idea for a couple years of ‘if we got back together, when would be the right scenario, and this music festival right here just kind of seemed like the right time to get back together and do a show and kick the tires and see how it feels”

98 Degrees Announce One Last Performance

After an 11 -year hiatus, the boys are ready to re-take the stage. It looks like the reunion of former boy bands is today’s hottest trend because 98 Degrees will be joining fellow boy bands the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block at the festival. The lineup also includes artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Wanted, The Fray, Carolina Liar, and many more!

When asked if there was a possibility of a full on reunion tour, the brothers were not opposed. They explain to Seacrest:

“Let’s be honest, there’s nothing better for your ego than standing up on stage and having thousands of girls screaming for you. It does become kind of addictive and we always had a blast touring together and making music together, but we are 4 grown men now. Most of us have families or kids on the way, so it really is about making sure that everybody can take care of their own responsibilities at home…If we can get together and do more that would be great. We’ve missed working with each other, performing together. So, we’re always open to that opportunity.”

Things are definitely looking up, 98 Degrees fans! Here’s just a little reminder of what we’ve been missing after all these years:
