Summer may be near its end–with the dreadful reality of schoolwork and term papers upon us–but that doesn’t mean the festivities have to end. In fact, I have some awesome tunes fit for every mood…particularly for saving the summer.
While there is still time, grab a comfy pillow, plug in those earbuds and relax on that hammock and enjoy the gentle breeze with this clever mix.
Although the days of the sunny season are winding down, there is no reason to panic. Whether you are keeping it cool on the sandy beaches, working (sweating) hard in a mac n’ cheese kitchen, like I am, or simply relishing everything the night life has to offer at the hottest clubs in town, take these songs with you into the school year as a reminder that even though the summer’s over, the fun isn’t just yet!

The ladies have definitely been owning summer 2013. While I’m a die-hard fan of the sultry Ciara, I must say, between “The Way,” and “Baby I”, Ms. Ariana Grande had me sold with her breakout singles. I also never thought the day would come when Jason Derulo would somehow make his way onto my iPod, but when “The Other Side” starts to play over the radio I can’t help but sing along.
What better way to forget about school than dancing your cares away? Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Bruno Mars’ “Treasure” are my top tunes for grooving and escaping the impending school year. If you’re an indie-alternative lover like myself, then you’ll especially like Haim’s record “Falling” and Shiny Toy Guns’ “Somewhere to Hide,” which gives the mix a certain disco-hipster flair (which is totally in, right now).
Here are a few of my faves. What tracks are keeping you sane with the idea of the approaching school year? Tell me in your comments!!Playlist, school, songs, summer 2013
