Kanye West, Jessica Alba, Emma Stone and Solange Knowles - aunt to newborn, Blue Ivy Carter - brought color blocking back into play.
Fashion trends from 2011 are rolling over into 2012!
If you’ve been living in some dull dimension for the past year, or you just never got the chance to experience color blocking back in 2011, think of this as your year for redemption. Step your game up; the movement of bright pants, colorful blazers and neon tops are definitely coming back more vividly than before. To succeed in this trend, rock three or more different complimentary colored clothing items at once and you’ll get the attention you desire, while establishing a bold and crisp new image. Color blocking is a style for individuals that are ready to break necks; it’s all about mixing and matching, baby!
Need help racking up on head-turning pieces?
Here are a few tips…
Don’t be alarmed if you see orange on every rack while searching for pieces to add to your collection. If you haven’t noticed, tangerine tango has officially been declared as this year’s chic color.

Don't let color stop you from being a trendsetter, color blocking is for every leading lady. Color those curves!
Gents, you can get in on this color action too!
Men in 2012 are confidently taking steps toward bright blues, oranges – no surprise there – and even pink. Runways this season display males color blocking while still maintaining their masculinity. This style isn’t only for women; it’s time for guys to let go of their “cool” and take a jab at the latest trends. Fellas, welcome to the year 2012, a time when color isn’t a crime.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards, better known as the SAG Awards, will be airing this Sunday night on TNT. The SAG Awards is probably the least watched award show out there—even less watched than the Critic’s Choice Awards which airs on the once great, now filled with hot messes network, known as VH1. I consider myself an award show enthusiast, and I haven’t even watched this one. It just seems kind of boring. more…

By now most people have heard of androgynous, male supermodel Andrej Pejic. He made waves last year when he walked in Marc Jacob’s and Jean-Paul Gaultier’s men’s shows, as well as Jean-Paul Gaultier’s women’s show. Some people were upset at a man being allowed to model in women’s fashion, but others took the if-you-got-it-flaunt-it stance and saw no problem with it.
Here’s a short clip of Andrej speaking about his stardom on The Insider last year: more…

While the 84th Annual Acadamy Award nominations were revealed on Tuesday morning, our eyes (and many other’s) paused when we got about half way down the list.
There was no surprise that the top most nominated films this year included one with no people and one with no speaking. Hugo received 11 listings while The Artist landed a close second with 10. more…

Do you remember singing songs like “Weak” and “Right Here” in front of the mirror with a brush or remote in hand? Well, I do! Those crazy octave songs were sung by female R&B group SWV who’s talent, at the time, was unmatchable. If you miss those days and are a true 90′s baby, I am happy to tell you that SWV (Sisters With Voices) is making a comeback this year. more…

From her music, to her fashion choices, to her assets, Nicki can do no wrong. Along her rapid ascent up the musical ladder, Nicki has attracted both loyal fans and haters, but even those that love to hate on her can’t deny the strong desire to see what she does next.
The video for her new single “Stupid Hoe” was just released three days ago, and it has already amassed almost six million views on YouTube. Although, the video does have more ‘dislikes’ than ‘likes’ at the moment (Go figure!). more…
